# Close > Close (close.city) is an interactive travel-time map of the United States. It > shows, block by block, how long it takes to walk, bike, or take public transit > to the amenities you choose. Built by Henry Spatial Analysis, LLC (Seattle). Most close.city pages are a JavaScript application and render no content without a browser, so this file carries the key facts inline. The developer surfaces linked below (docs site, OpenAPI spec, MCP server) serve full content to any client. ## What Close does - Pick destination types (grocery stores, schools, parks, transit stops, and more); the map colors each block by the combined travel time to the furthest of your selected amenities. - Set the travel mode per destination: walking, biking, or walking plus public transit. - The free map shows up to 6 destination types at once, with no account needed. The free map stays free. - Coverage: cities and counties across the United States, computed at census-block level. ## Close+ membership Close+ costs $10/month. Cancel anytime. What you get: - More destination types - Job access by industry and salary level - Up to 12 destinations on the map at once - Custom travel-time cutoffs and either-or destination groups - Add your own destinations to the map - Up to 50 saved maps, plus saved preferences - Up to 25 property reports per day - 10,000 API tokens granted each month Join or manage a membership at https://account.close.city/plus (server-rendered HTML; works without JavaScript). Sign-in is passwordless: an emailed magic link or six-digit code. Payments are processed by Stripe and the charge appears on statements as CLOSE.CITY. If Close+ is not what you hoped, email support@close.city within 30 days of your first payment for a full refund. This applies once per customer, to your first payment. ## Close API (for developers and AI agents) The Close API serves the same travel-time data programmatically. New accounts get 5,000 free API tokens with no card required. An AI agent can complete sign-up on a user's behalf over JSON; the user confirms by reading a six-digit code from their own email inbox. - [API documentation](https://docs.close.city): guides and full API reference. - [For AI agents](https://docs.close.city/ai/): compact reference including the programmatic sign-up transcript. - [Docs as plain text](https://docs.close.city/llms.txt): also [llms-full.txt](https://docs.close.city/llms-full.txt). - [OpenAPI 3.1 spec](https://api.close.city/openapi.json): served live by the API. - MCP server at https://mcp.close.city/mcp, published in the official MCP registry as city.close/close-api. Its tools include the sign-up pair that mints a free API key in-chat. ## Policies The policy pages (close.city/billing, close.city/terms, close.city/privacy) require JavaScript in a browser. In brief: Close+ renews monthly until canceled; cancel at https://account.close.city/ or by emailing support@close.city; the 30-day first-payment refund above is the full refund policy. ## Contact - Support: support@close.city.
